I live for treats! Did you know... there are different types? Training, dental, and good dog treats.
— Brioche

Depending on the activity, you may want different treats for your dog! We share our tips on our favorite treats for training, dental, and good boy greats below.

Training Treats

For most efficient training:

  • low in calories for more training sessions, or train during meal time with kibble

  • quick to eat to keep the training sessions short

  • easy to break off because sometimes just a tiny piece work, especially for smaller breeds

  • quality ingredients for a healthier dog (research what you are feeding them)

Remember to change up the treats, so your dog doesn’t get bored! All of the treats below have a variety of flavors.

Freeze Dried

“I’ll do anything for freeze-dried treats. They’re very nutritious, but apparently slightly more expensive compared to traditional treats.” - Brioche

Dental Treats

Prevent smelly doggy breath and very expensive dental bills! So, invest some time to keep their teeth clean!

We alternate between giving Brioche Greenies and rawhide alternatives. Both help reduce plaque and tartar buildup.

Greenies

They are shaped like a toothbrush, so they get all the grooves of their teeth!

Make sure to get the right size for your dog (based on age and weight!)

Rawhide Alternatives

This is great for their teeth, and also fulfills those chew urges (saved our furniture)! Our pup loves bully sticks, lamb ears, and cow ears. Real bones are dangerous for your dog as it can cause serious damage to their mouth, throats, and intestines.

We prefer Best Bully Sticks as this has been the least stinky and longest lasting for Brioche.

Good Dog Treats

Sometimes you can’t resist the puppy dog eyes, or want to give them a high-value treat or a delicious treat for being extra good! High value treats are especially great for rewarding more challenging tasks, such as dropping toys or food scraps, successful recall post play, or being calm during bath time and nail trimming.

Milkbone

These are available in 5 different flavors, and are low cost! Make sure you buy the right size for your pup.

Milkbone treats are hard in texture, so they can also help clean the teeth. Don’t try to use these as training treats, as they are difficult to break into small pieces.

These healthy treats are handcrafted in the US, and made from premium ingredients! Our pup loves everything from here, and will do anything for these.

Samples are available if you are unsure about your dog’s taste preferences.

Chomp chomp chomp. Gimme all the treats!
