Snoozing in my crate

You only need one crate, so pick a good one. We went with MidWest Double Door Crate with a Divider in our home.

  • Divider allows you adjust the size of the crate until it is full grown instead of buying many crates

  • With or without the crate, make sure it is the right size - if it is too big, your dog may create an area for sleeping and an area for soiling

  • Durable, and easy to collapse for travel via car or storage

  • Single door works too - we just like to have different options if we later choose to move the crate.

Measurements: Add 2-4 inches to height and length of dog

  • Adult Dog: Measure dog when sitting and standing

  • Puppy: Since you cannot make exact measurements, estimate how big it might be.

Weight is not a good indicator. Our dog is currently 18 pounds so sites may suggest 24 inch. But he is very tall and long, requires the 30 inch crate for ample space.
