“Hoomans, I need the perfect crate - has to be the perfect size, and perhaps some nice bedding!”
Crate
You only need one crate, so pick a good one. We went with MidWest Double Door Crate with a Divider in our home.
Divider allows you adjust the size of the crate until it is full grown instead of buying many crates
With or without the crate, make sure it is the right size - if it is too big, your dog may create an area for sleeping and an area for soiling
Durable, and easy to collapse for travel via car or storage
Single door works too - we just like to have different options if we later choose to move the crate.
Measurements: Add 2-4 inches to height and length of dog
Adult Dog: Measure dog when sitting and standing
Puppy: Since you cannot make exact measurements, estimate how big it might be.
Weight is not a good indicator. Our dog is currently 18 pounds so sites may suggest 24 inch. But he is very tall and long, requires the 30 inch crate for ample space.
